About Me

Hi! I'm Yemmy, and yes, this is my name and not my pseudonym. I was born in Mexico City. I am a woman, wife, mom, engineer and entrepreneur.

Estudié Ingeniería en Sistemas Electrónicos, entré al mundo corporativo y me di cuenta de que necesitaba más que eso. Un gran desafío es que me gusta aprender y casi todo me llama la atención. Encontré en el emprendimiento una manera de canalizarlo y de apreciar todos los trabajos, oficios y profesiones.

I spent a lot of time at artisans fairs and chatting with artisans so the idea of selling Mexican handcrafts online came up. I was shocked to find out that between 60% and 80% of the handcrafts sold in Mexico are no longer Mexican, that is why my goal was to contribute by making sure that everything I bought was handmade and made by Mexicans and that was how art32.mx was born. I knew nothing about business and I thought my experience in technology would be enough aha! I trained with Pro-Empleo, Mujeres Moviendo México, Nafin, Sedeco and I've taken as many courses as I've found online. Currently for personal reasons, this project is suspended.

Along the way I have met more entrepreneurs, artisans and designers, I find their stories and their processes fascinating. I've learned a lot from everything they have shared with me. Writing about them and about Mexico gives me the opportunity to broaden my vision, think, explore and learn more. I want to share all this with you and this is the purpose of Postal de México(Postcard from Mexico).
