The constitution says that the states that are part of the Republic are free and sovereign, since their citizens, through their representatives, have the power to decide their own laws, as long as they comply with the text of the Mexican Constitution

The Constitution, which is therefore called the federal pact, brings together these free states into a common whole that we call the Federation.

In the federal system of Mexico there are three Powers: the Legislative, the Executive and the Judicial. These powers, in addition to acting at the national or general level, exist at the same time and are mutually limited with the Legislative, Executive and Judicial of each state or federative entity, whose work is reduced to its own territory.
